CELAHKOTANEWS.COM||DUMAI – Dua warga binaan Rutan Kelas IIB Dumai Kardi bin Abdurrahman dan Muhammad Ali bin Kalam mendapat remisi bebas tanpa syarakat di Hari Ulang Tahun (HUT) kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia (RI). Saat mendapat surat keputusan yang diberikan oleh Wali Kota Dumai Zulkifli AS mereka berdua tampak sangat terharu bahkan terlihat meneteskan air mata.
Pemberian remisi tersebut dilaksanakan di Rutan Dumai, Rabu (17/8). Hadir saat itu, Wali Kota Dumai Zulkifli AS, Wakil Wali Kota Dumai Eko Soeharjo, Ketua DPRD Kota Dumai Gusri Efenndi, Kepala Rutan Kelas IIB Dumai, Muhammad Lukman dan beberapa tamu undangan lainnya.
‘’Jujur kami sangat terharu. Bisa lebih cepat bebas,’’ ujar Kardi didampingi M Ali usai upacara remisi dilaksanakan.
Ia berharap dirinya saat sudah bebas nanti bisa diterima masyarakat dan tidak dibeda-bedakan lagi. ‘’Banyak pelajaran yang selama ini, nantinya akan diaplikasikan ke lingkungan masyarakat,’’ sebutnya.
Sementara itu, Muhammad Lukman mengatakan, dua warga binaan yang dibebaskan tersebut itu merupakan pelaku kasus pencurian dengan masing-masing masa tahanan Kardi selama 3,6 tahun dan M Ali 1,6 tahun. ‘’Untuk Kardi mendapat remisi selama 4 bulan, sementara Ali selama dua bulan. Jadi dengan remisi itu mereka bebas, karena sudah menjalani masa tahanan,’’ terangnya.
Dikatakannya, pihaknya mengusulkan 338 warga binaan yang mendapatkan remisi. Mereka diberi remisi bervariasai ada yang dua bulan hingga tujuh bulan. ‘’Kami bersama warga binaan juga komit untuk menjaga keamanan di rutan Dumai,’’ terangnya.
Sementara itu, Wali Kota Dumai Zulkifli AS berharap warga binaan yang dibebaskan dapat kembali berinteraksi dengan masyarakat secara baik. ‘’Tentunya diharapkan mereka bisa kembali menjadi masyarakat seperti biasanya, sementara yang belum bebas manfaatkan rutan ini untuk menimba ilmu yang bermanfaat,’’ tutupnya.(rp/net)
