Salah Satu Yang Di lakukan Saat Ini Adalah Untuk Pengembangkan Palm Oil Green Economic Zone, Pemerintah Indonesia dan Malaysia telah menginisiasi kerjasama di bidang ekonomi melalui pembentukan lembaga persatuan negara penghasil minyak kelapa sawit atau Council Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC).
Salah Satu Kawasan Yang Di Gadang – gadangkan Adalah Kawasan Industri Dumai (KID) yang terletak di Kelurahan Pelintung, Kecamatan Medang Kampai, Kota Dumai, Riau, merupakan salah satu kandidat Palm Oil Green Economic Zone dari CPOPC.
Sejauh itu Kawasan Induteri Dumai (KID) Dinilai telah berhasil mengalahkan empat pelabuhan besar yang ada di Indonesia.Empat wilayah di Indonesia yang menjadi Palm Oil Green Economic Zone, yaitu Sei Mangkei di Kecamatan Bosar Maligas, Kabupaten Simalungun, Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Kuala Tanjung di Kecamatan Sei Suka, Kabupaten batubara, Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Bontang di Kota Bontang, Provinsi Kalimantan Timur. Dan Kawasan Industri Dumai di Kota Dumai, Provinsi Riau.
Hal Tersebut Di sampaikan Menteri Perindustrian Republik Indonesia (Menperin RI) Airlangga Hartarto usai saat Melakukan tatap muka di KID Pelintung, membahas Palm Oil Green Economic Zone.(3/11/2016) Kemarin
“Kita sudah meluncurkan inisiatif Palm Oil Green Economic Zone. Dimana kemarin ada beberapa wilayah di Indonesia yang menjadi kandidat, termamuk Kota Dumai,” katanya.
“Dari keempatnya ini, setelah kami (Kementerian Perindustrian RI, red) evaluasi. Yang paling siap adalah Dumai. Oleh karena itu, kami cek ke lapangan dan melihat Kawasan Industri Dumai,” ujarnya.
Menurut Airlangga, inisiatif ini akan diluncurkan pada awal tahun 2017 dan di Malaysia juga ada satu lokasi. “Dari hasil evaluasi, Dumai memenuhi persyaratan menjadi Palm Oil Green Economic Zone,” bebernya.
“Hanya di sini (Kota Dumai, red), kami melihat perlu adanya peningkatan arus komoditi kelapa sawit. Karena Pelabuhan Dumai sudah cukup representatif,” ungkapnya.
Dikatakan Airlangga, Palm Oil Green Economic Zone tidak berpolusi. “Beda lagi kalau kita bicara Migas, itu hal yang berbeda. Di sini yang didorong Green Economic Zone atau non polusi,” ungkapnya.
Dumai ditunjuk sebagai Palm Oil Green Economic Zone, jelas Airlangga, karena melihat keempat kawasan yang ada setelah dievaluasi. “Yang paling siap menerima industri ditahun 2017 itu hanya Dumai,” jelasnya.
Saat mengunjungi Kawasan Industri Dumai, Airlangga didampingi Gubernur Riau Arsyadjuliandi Rachman, Kapolda Riau Brigjen Pol Zulkarnain, Walikota Dumai Zulkifli As, Sekdako Dumai Said Mustafa, Kapolres Dumai AKBP Donal H Ginting, Ceo Wilmar,Maratua sitorus,Presiden Dirwktur Wilmar indonesia,Hendri Saksti,GM Wilmar Dumai Tenang Sembiring serta Deputi GM Dominikus dan Forkompinda Kota Dumai.
Sementarai itu Presdir Wilmar Indonesia Hendri Saksti Mengtakan.
” Bahwasannya Kawasan Industeri Dumai (KID),PT Wilmar telah siap menjadi kawasan Industri sebagai lokasi Palm Oil Green Economic Zone (Pogez) dengan Palm oil Industri berada di dalam satu lokasi (Pogez) maka lingkungan akan lebih terkontrol dalam satu managemen sehingga diharapkan dukungan pemerintah untuk akselerasi pertumbuhan Kota Dumai.” Jelas Hendri Saksti
Sementara Itu GM Wilmar Dumai Tenang sembiring Saat Di Konfirmasi Celahkotanews.com Mengatakan.
