Sepanjang jalan perkampungan Sungai sepit hampir sebiji kerikil pun tidak kelihatan hanya jalan tanah yang berlumpur yang senantiasa menemani warga ketika hilir mudik mengangkut hasil Pertaniannya.
Sungai sepit yang termasuk dalam kawasan Kota Dumai berada paling ujung Kota Dumai yang berbatasan langsung dengan Kabupaten tetangga Rokan Hilir yang berjarak lebih Kurang 54 KM Menuju ibu kota Kecamatan sungai sembilan.
Pantauan Celahkotanews saat mengunjugi kehidupan warga sekitar sungguh diluar dugaan dengan kondisi daerah tersebut selain akses jalan menuju kelurahan pun belum ada serta Berbagai sarana penunjang pun belum memadai.
Nurat warga RT 09 Mekar sari saat dijumpai tim celahkotanews di sungai sepit mengatakan bahwa untuk bidang pembangunan di RT mereka sangat jauh tertinggal padahal dengan segala upaya mereka telah lakukan.
“Lihatlah jalan kami ini jangankan jalan menuju kecamatan untuk tembus kekelurahan batu teritib aja jalan kami tidak ada jadi setiap aktifitas kami selalu melalui jalur laut hal ini tentunya sangat sulit bagi kami,”terang Nurat (20/09/17)
Sementara itu pula warga kami disini juga mengalami kesulitan untuk mengangkut hasil-hasil bumi seperti Keladi,sayuran,Padi dan lainnya. “Kami sangat butuh pembangunan jalan, karena masyarakat kesulitan untuk mengangkut hasil bumi Sebab kondisi jalan masih berupa tanah dan setiap datang hujan ibarat kubangan kerbau,” ungkap Nurat.
Lebih lanjut dikatakannya, Mereka menilai,selain jalan serta disegala lini di daerah mereka masih sangat minim,selain itu lebih kurang 800 kepala kelauarga yang hidup di ujung perbatasan dumai tersebut masih membutuhkan sentuhan pembangunan dari Pemerintah Kota Dumai.
“Disini ramainya bila ada keperluan seperti mau pilkada,Baik pemilihan Walikota,maupun pemilihan Anggota Dewan,yaa banyaklah buaian janji manis namun kenyatanya masih jauh dari harapan,”jelas Nurat
Dari delapan 800 Kepala Keluaraga di sungai sepit tersebut rata-rata mereka hidup dari bertani dan menjadi petani,namun sayang kehidupan warga disungai sepit kurang mendapat perhatian terlebih dibidang pertanian.
Banyak para petani disudut kota Dumai berusaha sekeras mungkin menyekolahkan anak – anak mereka agar bisa mendapat pekerjaan di balik meja, bukan menjadi petani seperti orangtuanya. Ini karena kehidupan mereka jauh dari kata sejahtera.
Padahal, profesi sebagai petani sangat penting sebagai penyetok pangan. Bayangkan jika ke depan bahan makanan semakin susah didapatkan karena hanya sedikit yang mau jadi petani.
Selain itu pula harapan dari 800 KK ini baik kepada Lurah,Camat,Pemko Dumai Serta Dewan untuk dapat memperhatikan merkeka. (CKN)
