celahkotaNEWS.com – DUMAI- Kerusakan kawasan hutan bakau di Kawasa pesisir Dumai, sangat merugikan kehidupan nelayan dan warga yang tinggal di bibir pantai. Sementara itu, upaya penanaman kembali bakau oleh pemerintah tidak berjalan baik karena sebagian bakau yang baru ditanam rusak diterjang gelombang.
Namun tidak sedikit pula para cukong kayu bakau yang kerap bermain kucing-kucingan,namun kali ini naas bagi mereka ditangan pihak kepolisian,dan tidak dapat berkutik karena gelagak mereka tercium sedang membawa arang olahan yang bahan bakunya bakau dari hasil tebangan ilegal.
Setidaknya pihak Polres Dumai Menahan satu unit mobil Fick up L300 BM 9023 RD, yang beisi arang bakau, 45 karung arang kayu bakau, satu (1) lembar nota pengiriman barang, satu k1) unit pompong kayu dan 200 potongan kayu bakau telah di potong dan siap diolah menjadi arang bakau.
Kapolres Dumai AKBP Andri Ananta Yudistira melalui Kasat Reskrim AKP Fajri dalam jumpa pers mengatakan pada tanggal 04 April 2021 sekira pukul 14.30 di jalan wan amir telah menagkap satu unit mobil yang membawa arang bakau diduga kuat mengangkut kayu hasil hutan tanpa iijin.
“Tersangka mengangkut arang kayu bakau tanpa disertai surat keterangan yang sah hasil hutan (SKSHHK) yang di beli dari Junanidi,selaku pemilik usaha pengelohan kayu balau menjadi arang, sedangkan bahan baku berupa kayu bakau diambil dari pesisir pantai daerah bulu hala Kecamatan Sungai Sembilan oleh pekerja yang diberi upah oleh junaidi,” jelas Fajri
Sejauh ini pihak kepolisin masih melakukan penyelidikan dan tidak sampai disitu saja pasukan baju coklat juga akan mendalami para pemain-pemain kayu arang bakau ilegal yang telah membabat hutan bakau di wilayah pesisir Dumai.
Sebagaimana yang kita ketahui, hutan mangrove merupakan komunitas tumbuhan pantai yang mampu hidup dan berkembang pada kondisi perairan yang bersalinitas (tingkat keasinan atau kadar garam terlarut dalam air), pada kawasan pasang surut pantai berlumpur.
Manfaat dan fungsi Hutan Mangrove dari berbagai sudut pandang baik itu manfaat secara ekologi, manfaat secara ekonomi, manfaat secara fisik, manfaat secara biologi, dan manfaat secara kimia, juga manfaat secara sosial sangat dirasakan dalam kehidupan masyarakat pesisir.
Hutan mangrove dapat mencegah bencana alam, karena salah satu fungsi utama hutan mangrove adalah untuk melindungi garis pantai dari abrasi dan meredam gelombang besar termasuk bencana alam gelombang besar.
