Mengenai rasa, daging siput gonggong yang telah dimasak dijamin enak. Tak heran jika penggemar daging siput ini bukan hanya masyarakat Pulau Bintan saja, namun juga dari daerah lain. Banyak orang dari luar Pulau Bintan, seperti Dumai ,Pekanbaru,Bangka, Batam, dan Belitung bahkan dari luar Kepulauan Riau, tidak mau melewatkan kesempatan menikmati siput gonggong jika datang berkunjung.
Biasanya, gonggong disajikan dengan cara yang cukup sederhana, yakni direbus bersama dengan garam dan irisan jahe yang berguna untuk menghilangkan bau amis. Untuk menambah cita rasa, gonggong yang telah direbus dapat disantap bersama sambal.
Nah, sambal yang disajikan bersama gonggong rebus ini berbeda-beda, bergantung pada warung yang Anda kunjungi. Ada yang menggunakan sambal kacang, sambal tauco, atau sambal kecap.
Untuk memakan siput gonggong dibutuhkan cara khusus, yakni menggunakan bantuan tusuk gigi agar daging bisa diambil dari cangkangnya. Cara menariknya pun harus dengan trik khusus yaitu mengikuti bentuk cangkang siput tersebut. Jika sembarangan dagingnya akan putus dan Anda akan sulit untuk mengorek-ngoreknya lagi.
Ingin tahu dimana bisa mendapatkan siput gonggong? Anda tak perlu bersusah payah karena hampir setiap restoran sea food yang banyak tersebar di Kota Tanjungpinang dan Kebupaten Bintan, Provinsi Kepulauan Riau, menyediakan gonggong sebagai salah satu menunya.
Selain itu juga cangkang siput goggong yang semulanya adalah limbah rumah makan namun cangkang-cangkang siput ini di olah menjadi daggangan yang dengan nilai jual tersendiri,bentuknya yang unik dengan sentuahan tangan-tangan kreatif cangkang siout gongging me jadi cendera mata.
Ada yang menyupnya menjadi gantungan kunci,namun kreatufitas tidak ada batasnya cangkang ginggong juga di sulap menjadi bros, hiasan bunga,dan bahkan tudung lampu hias.
