Perpupustakaan merupakan satu tempat penyedia jasa informasi bagi semua kalangan masyarakat khususnya instansi sekolah dimana informasi sebagai kebutuhan yang fundamen. Cara perolehan informasi tersebut akan terpenuhi apabila perpustakaan dapat berfungsi dengan baik dan dikelola oleh tenaga yang profesional. Dengan demikian perpustakaan dapat bisa menyiapkan suatu solusi inovasi dalam memberikan informasi yang sesuai denagan kebutuhan pemustaka sehingga keberadaan perpustakaan dapat benar-benar bisa dimanafaatkan secara maksimal oleh pemustaka, hal seperti ini harus dijadikan suatu budaya sehingga dengan demikian pengenbangan strategi dan inovasi perpustakaan bukan hanya menjadi wacana saja tetapi harus di implemensaikan secara berkesinambungan, mengingat masih kurangnya minat baca.

Mengenai minat baca harus ditanggapi secara serius dan harus di carikan solusi dengan critical thingking, karena permasalahan ini kaitanya erat dengan masa depan bangsa dan negara. Masa depan bangsa ada pada generasi muda yaitu siswa, bila membaca suatu tiang sebuah peradaban maka membangun, menumbuhkembang dan membudayakan minat baca harus mempunyai strategi inovasi dan menjadi suatu keharusan yang mutlak.

Membangun minat baca tentunya harus dimualai dari membangun hubungan yang sinergis baik masyrakay dengan perpustakaan. Sebab jika kedua ini tidak ada sinergi atau saling mensuport, maka akan tumpang tindih, mustahil minat baca akan tumbuh itu hanya akan menjadi wacana saja dan tidak akan terimplementasi.

Dalam era pembangunan serta kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi saat ini, peran perpustakaan dan pusat informasi semakin dirasakan kegunaannya oleh masyarakat sebagai sumber informasi pembangunan maupun sarana belajar dan mengajar untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan dan keterampilan.Selain itu, perpustakaan berperan sebagai lembaga pendidikan nonformal yang dapat memberi kesempatan kelangsungan pendidikan sepanjaang hayat.
