CelahkotaNews.com || Dumai – Banjir di Kota Dumai sudah menjadi perhatian khusus, untuk mengurangi itu, Pemko Dumai merencanakan pengerokan (Normalisasi.red) Sungai Dumai karena pendangkalan dengan mempersiapkan Feasibility Study (FS) dan Detail Engineering Design (DED) untuk diajukan ke Pemerintah Pusat.
“Normalisasi sungai Dumai perlu dilakukan untuk mencegah pendangkalan akibat sedimen atau hendapan lumpur. Normalisasi salah satu cara yang sangat efektif untuk mencegah terjadinya banjir akibat air pasang dan hujan,” kata Sekda Dumai HM Nasir ditemui media ini, kemarin
Menurutnya, melalui Dinas PU sudah membuat pemetaan daerah rawan banjir terutama di wilayah-wilayah yang dialiri sungai Dumai. Mudah-mudahan usulan normalisasi sungai Dumai diterima oleh Pemerintah pusat mengingat APBD Dumai sangat terbatas.
“Kedepan Sungai Dumai akan kita jadikan objek wisata seperti Melaka River Cruise. Programnya sudah kita susun. kami memandang sungai Dumai memiliki potensi untuk dijadikan objek wisata air,” jelasnya
Mantan pejabat PU ini mengakui, tak mudah mewujudkan Sungai Dumai menjadi objek wisata tanpa adanya dukungan pemerintah pusat. “Kami akan terus berupaya menjemput dana APBN agar apa yang kita harapkan dapat terwujud, dukungan seluruh lapisan masyarakat Dumai juga sangat kita harapkan,” harap Sekda.
Terakhir Sekda mengajak seluruh lapisan masyarakat mengaktifkan kegiatan gotong royong untuk mencegah terjadinya banjir. “Saya menghimbau masyarakat Dumai untuk mengakktifkan kegiatan gotong royong untuk mencegah banjir seperti yang telah dilaksanakan di Jalan Yosudarso Kelurahan Buluh Kasap Sabtu akhir pekan kemarin,” katanya.
