Celahkotanews.com || Dumai – Keberadaan Bidan di Kota Dumai dinilai memiliki peran terhadap upaya mencegah angka meninggalknya ibu hamil di kota Dumai. Untuk itu bidan diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kompetensi mereka dalam bidang kesehatan sehingga memiliki kualitas yang mumpuni dibidangnya. Hal itu disampaikan Walikota Dumai, Zulkifli As, pada Perayaan HUT IBI ke 65, Kamis (13/10) di Gedung Sri Bunga Tanjung Jalan Putri Tujuh.
Kegiatan ini selain dihadiri Walikota, juga dihadiri Ketua Tim Penggerak PKK Kota Dumai, Haslinar, Anggota komisi III DPRD Kota Dumai, Supriyanto dan seluruh bidan yang tergabung dalam ikatan bidan indonesia (IBI) kota Dumai.
”Bidan menjadi senjata pertama untuk menimimumkan angka kematian ibu dan anak, selain itu bidan sangat berperan penting dalam tumbuh kembangnya generasi penerus yang ada,” terang orang nomor satu di Kota Dumai ini.
Pria yang akbar disapa Zul As ini mengatakan IBI tidak hanya perlu menciptakan program-program kesehatan yang berkualitas, namun IBI juga harus menjadi wadah yang baik agar seluruh bidan berkembang baik dan meningkatkan kompetensi dan kualitas mereka. ”Untuk itu kepada semua bidan yang ada agar terus memberikan kinerja dan pelayanan terbaik kepada masyarakat,” tambahnya.
Sementara itu, Ketua IBI Dumai , R Donna Fitri Ilahi mengatakan IBI merupakan organisasi wadah para bidan, saling berbagai ilmu dan meningkatkan kompetensi. ”Di Dumai bidan yang terdata ada sekitar 496 orang, setiap tahun meningkat terus meningkat,” terangnnya.
Ia mengatakan pihak terus mengupdate kompetensi bidan di kota Dumai, selain itu bidan juga tidak tinggal diam, untuk mengurangi tingkat meninggalnya ibu hamil ketika melahirkan. ”Kami siap membantu pembangunan kota dumai khususnya dibidang kesehatan,” tutupnya.(ckn)
