Celahkotanews.com | Dumai – Pangkalan TNI AL (Lanal)  Dumai melaksanakan sosialisasi tentang keselamatan dalam pelayaran angkutan laut kepada 56 orang perwakilan nelayan, pemilik kapal, speed boat dan pengguna jasa angkutan laut lainnya.

Bertempat di Dermaga TNI AL Pos Sungai Dumai, Riau. Kamis (8/9/2016) Komandan Lanal (Danlanal) Letkol Laut (P) Muhammad Risahdi M. Si (Han)  Dumai mengatakan kegiatan tersebut guna mendukung salah satu program TNI AL dalam bidang Pembinaan Potensi Nasional Kekuatan Maritim.

Dalam kegiatan itu disampaikan akan pentingnya keselamatan dan keamanan berlayar baik diperairan maupun alur pelayaran guna menghindari kecelakaan yang dapat merugikan materiil maupun personil. Sehingga diharapkan para pengguna jasa angkutan laut mengerti, memahami dan melaksanakan hal tersebut.

Perwira Staf Operasi  (Pasops) Lanal Dumai Mayor Laut (P) Octo S. M. Manurung, S. T., salah satu nara sumber dalam acara tersebut menyampaikan agar terjaminnya keselamatan dalam pelayaran setiap kapal sebagai pengguna laut, terutama kapal penyeberangan yang mengangkut penumpang harus memiliki kelengkapan keselamatan seperti sekoci, baju pelampung dan alat komunikasi yang dibutuhkan.

“Penyebab kecelakan dapat terjadi karena beberapa faktor, diantaranya human error kesalahan manusia, itu karena kecerobohan dalam menjalankan kapal, kurang mampunya awak kapal mengatasi kendala dalam operasional pelayaran dan muatan kapal yang berlebihan,”M. Manurung, S. T

Masih menurut Mayor Laut (P) Octo S. M. Manurung, S. T juga menambahkan.

“Selain itu juga faktor teknis biasanya terkait dengan kekurang cermatan di dalam desain kapal, penelantaran perawatan kapal sehingga mengakibatkan kerusakan kapal atau bagian-bagian kapal yang menyebabkan kapal mengalami kecelakaan.

Yang terakhir yakni faktor alam, berupa cuaca buruk menjadi permasalahan yang seringkali dianggap sebagai penyebab utama dalam kecelakaan laut.Permasalahan yang biasanya dialami adalah badai, gelombang yang tinggi yang dipengaruhi oleh musim badai, arus yang besar, kabut yang mengakibatkan jarak pandang yang terbatas.” Tambah M.
