Celahkotanews.com || Dumai – Banyaknya sungai di Kecamatan Sungai sembilan Kota Dumai membuat menjamurnya pelabuhan tikus. Hal itulah membuat penyelundupan narkoba lewat perairan sangat rawan di kecamatan paling ujung di Kota Dumai itu.
Rawannya penyelundupan ini diketahui saat walikota Dumai berdiskusi bersama ketua RT/ LPMK, tokoh masyarakat kecamatan Sungai Sembilan, Jumat (21/10) kemarin.
”Kami disini khawatir sekali dengan kondisi rawannya sungai sembilan karena banyaknya pelabuhan tikus,” terang salah seorang warga Usman.
Dalam diskusi menyerap aspirasi masyarakat tersebut, Wako Dumai meminta agar kepala BNK Kota Dumai menjelaskan bagaimana situasi rawannya narkoba di Kecamatan Sungai Sembilan.
Kepala BNK Kota Dumai, Afifuddin mengatakan memang sungai sembilan sangat rawan penyelundupan narkoba, karena banyaknya pelabuhan tikus di tempat tersebut. ”Itulah yang membuat tempat itu sangat rawan,” terangnya.
Untuk itu, perlu ada peran masyarakat bersama dengan pemerintah serta pihak kepolisian untuk bersama-sama untuk mencegah masuknya narkoba. ”Memang salah satu multi efeknya karena adanya pengangguran, membuat anak muda kita tergiur akan hal tersebut,” tambahnya.
Sementara itu, Walikota Dumai, Zulkifli As mengaku sepakat harus ada peran masyarakat, bagaimana membangun sistem agar hal tersebut bisa dicegah. ”Memang diakui letak kota Dumai ini sangat strategis, inilah yang dimanfaatkan oknum tidak bertanggung jawab,” tuturnya.
Ia berharap generasi muda di kota Dumai bisa terlepas dari narkoba, karena narkoba ini sangat membahayakan. ”Kalau sudah terkena narkoba, anak bisa durhaka kepada orang tua, atau juga sebaliknya,” tutupnya.(ckn)
