CelahkotaNEWS.com || – Untuk meningkatkan Angka Partisipasi pemilih ketika Pemilu Komisi Pemilihan Umum ( KPU) Kota Dumai kembali Sosialisasi Pemilihan Gubernur dan Wakil Gubernur Riau tahun 2018 dengan merangkul Pelajar Sekota Dumai, Mahasiswa dan Tenaga Pengajar,Selasa (24/04) kemarin
Acara dihadiri Lima Komisioner KPU sekaligus memaparkan tentang pemilu bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, pendidikan dan kesadaran berdemokrasi di kalangan siswa , mahasiswa yang ada di Dumai.
Ketua KPU Dumai Darwis Sag mengatakan pentingnya menyalurkan hak politik pada saat pemilu/pemilihan, sebab satu suara ikut andil dalam menentukan nasib 5 tahun ke depan.
Dengan memilih berarti juga ikut melanggengkan kehidupan berdemokrasi di Indonesia, secara lebih luas juga berarti ikut membangun bangsa. Pemahaman inilah yang coba ditanamkan kepada generasi muda.
Dengan membidik pelajar dalam usia pra pemilih (14-16 tahun) dan pemilih pemula (17 tahun atau sudah menikah). Tujuan umum dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan partisipasi, meningkatkan literasi politik dan meningkatkan kerelawanan (voluntaritas). Sementara tujuan spesifiknya adalah untuk membentuk pemilih yang cerdas sedari dini.
“ Pemilih yang cerdas itu adalah pemilih yang menggunakan hak suaranya secara bertanggungjawab. Bukan memilih karena tendensi tertentu apalagi karena money politic. Tetapi karena yakin calon yang dipilih dapat membawa perubahan ke arah yang lebih baik,” jelas Darwis.
Maka itu bagi pelajar yang sudah memenuhi persyaratan agar segera melakukan perekaman e_ktp.Jangan sampai tidak menggunakan hak pilih saat pemilu berlangsung.(die)
