CELAHKOTANEWS.COM, ROKAN HILIR – Pulau Jemur adalah bagian dari sekian banyak wisata Rokan Hilir (Rohil). Kawasan Pulau Jemur merupakan gugusan pulau-pulau yang terdiri dari beberapa buah pulau, yakni Pulau Tekong Emas, Pulau Tekong Simbang, Pulau Labuhan Bilik serta pulau-pulau kecil lainnya.
Pulau-pulau yang terdapat di Pulau Jemur ini berbentuk lingkaran sehingga bagian tengahnya merupakan laut yang tenang. Pada musim angin barat laut tiba, gelombang di Selat Malaka sangat besar sehingga biasanya nelayan-nelayan yang sedang menangkap ikan disekitar perairan Pulau Jemur ini berlindung di bagian tengah Pulau Jemur yang terdapat air laut yang tenang.
Setelah gelombang laut mengecil atau badai berkurang barulah para nelayan keluar untuk memulai aktivitas menangkap ikan kembali. Pulau Jemur memiliki pemandangan dan panorama alam yang indah, selain itu Pulau Jemur ini amat kaya dengan hasil lautnya, disamping penyu-penyu tersebut naik ke pantai dan bertelur, penyu tersebut menyimpan telurnya di bawah lapisan pasir-pasir pantai, satwa langka ini dapat bertelur 100 sampai 150 butir setiap ekornya.
Untuk meningkatkan jumlah populasi Penyu Hijau, pemerintah Rokan Hilir melakukan kegiatan penangkaran penyu untuk mencegah terjadinya kepunahan terhadap satwa langka ini.
Kawasan Pulau Jemur terletak lebih kurang 45 mil dari ibukota Kabupaten Rokan Hilir, Bagan siapi-api dan 45mil dari negara jiran yakni Malaysia, sedangkan Propinsi Sumatera Utara merupakan propinsi yang terdekat dari Pulau Jemur. Selain itu Pulau Jemur juga terdapat beberapa potensi wisata lain diantaranya adalah Goa Jepang, Menara Suar, bekas tapak kaki manusia, perigi tulang, sisa-sisa pertahanan Jepang, batu Panglima Layar, Taman Laut dan pantai berpasir kuning emas.
Pulau Jemur telah mengalami proses sejarah yang amat panjang dan berliku-liku. Pada masa sebelum penjajahan Belanda, Pulau Jemur merupakan bagian dari Kesultanan Malaka dan Kesultanan Melayu, Pulau ini telah terlibat dalam percaturan politik dengan wilayah perbatasan negara tetangga yaitu Malaysia, letak geografis yang sangat menguntungkan telah menjadikan pulau ini sebagai salah satu media pertahanan keamanan kemaritiman.
Pada masa lalu Pulau Jemur menjadi wilayah kerajaan Rokan yang senantiasa menjalin hubungan sangat erat dengan kerajaan Malaka yaitu pada masa Pemerintahan Sultan Muhammad Syah sekitar tahun 1400 M, baginda Sultan Muhammad Syah beristrikan Sang Puteri Kerajaan Rokan. Oleh-oleh seperti telur penyu kerap dihadiahkan oleh Raja Rokan kepada Sultan Malaka. Menurut catatan sejarah bahwa keturunan Raja Rokan pernah memerintah dan meluaskan pengaruhnya hingga ke wilayah Kerajaan Malaka pada tahun 1424 – 1456 M.
Pulau Jemur juga memiliki keistimewaan karena pasirnya yang kuning keemasan. Pantainya juga masih bening dan karena itu pulau ini memiliki julukan Jamrud di Selat Malaka. Di sekitar pantai Pulau Jemur, Anda juga bisa menemukan batu-batu karang. Karena pulau-pulau di sekitar Pulau Jemur berbentuk seperti lingkaran, perairan di Pulau Jemur begitu tenang sehingga memudahkan Anda untuk snorkeling atau berenang di pantai. Pulau Jemur sebenarnya memiliki kekayaan biota laut mulai dari ikan sampai terumbu karang, namun Anda harus menunggu karena fasilitas diving atau selam belum terdapat di Pulau Jemur.(one)
