celahkotaNEWS.com || DUMAI – Tidak hanya masyarakat yang menggeluhkan kondisi Penerangan Jalan Umum (PJU), hal senada juga diungkapkan Sekretaris Daerah Kota Dumai Herdi Salioso.
Herdi bahkan menyebut Dumai seperti ‘Kota Hantu’ karena sangat minimnya penerangan jalan umum.
“Saya juga merasakan sendiri ketika pulang malam dari Pekanbaru, masuk ke Kota Dumai terlihat sangat-sangat minim penerangan, sepanjang jalan itu gelap gulita tanpa penerangan,” katanya.
Menurut dia, fasilitas PJU sangat dibutuhkan masyarakat. Penerangan jalan tidak hanya di jalan umum saja tetapi juga di Jalan Kelurahan dan gang kecil pemukiman masyarakat, agar Dumai ini terang benderang, dan mencegah terjadinya aksi kejahatan dan kriminalitas.
“Sayangnya lagi keluhan ini telah disampaikan ke bidang teknis namun mereka lambat merespon sehingga masih banyak ditemukan PJU yang tidak berfungsi. Kedepan Saya akan tekankan dinas terkait agar seluruh PJU yang ada di Kota Dumai untuk dicek kembali kelayakannya, saya tidak ingin Dumai gelap seperti ‘Kota Hantu’, melainkan Dumai harus terang dari kota hingga pelosok,”.
Namun sayang ungkapan yang disampaikan sekda Dumai tersebut bagaikan menepuk air didulang. (ckn/DPN)
